Sanskrit
Sanskrit is the language of the Vedas and many scriptures and philosophical texts (including the Upanishads and the Bhagavad Geeta), devotional hymns, epics and mythologies in the Hindu tradition. Apart from the joy of learning it for its own sake, knowledge of Sanskrit puts one in a better position to appreciate the texts in a deeper manner.
Subject to sufficient number of interested persons and availability of a facilitator, CM Mauritius organises classes on Introductory Sanskrit (typically once a week for one year), intended at developing one's ability to read and write the Devanagari script, ensuring correct pronunciation, introduction to basic vocabulary, simple usage and sentence formation. Thereafter, depending on interest of participants, we take the batch further in subsequent years to explore wider aspects of Sanskrit language usage and grammar in subsequent years. We also organise from time to time, batches on Spoken Sanskrit.
If interested, please PROVIDE YOUR DETAILS HERE. When enough number of interested participants are available, we shall start a new batch and shall inform you accordingly.
